Invisalign

Traditional braces have become nearly obsolete in the modern era.  Aligning teeth is now less painful or aesthetically obtrusive. The outcome is the same, but nearly unnoticeable Invisalign system removes the juvenile appearance of traditional braces.

The initial consultation appointment determines viability of treatment for a patient.  If Invisalign is the correct product for a patient, a tooth impression and photographs of a patient’s mouth will be taken in order for Invisalign to fabricate aligners.  Computer aided manufacturing creates approximately two dozen custom aligners for the new patients.  The dentist or orthodontist will retain most of the aligners, dispensing them every two weeks as the patient’s teeth change.  Proper monitoring by the dental professional is essential to the success of the Invisalign system. The aligners should not be out of the patient’s mouth for more than four hours per day, and the patient should abstain from food while the aligner is placed to assure maximum benefits.

If a patent is not a prime candidate for Invisalign, traditional braces are still a possibility and often necessary for more drastic cases.
